The Greater Lansing Transition
In today’s world the American economy is in a transitional phase that will shape not only the face of the country but also the dynamics of the world economy. As more blue collar manufacturing jobs move overseas and the industrial framed foundation of our nation continues to crumble, a new resurgent economy built from the arts and technology is taking its place. In my paper I will be examining the role of young adults in creative economies in the Greater Lansing economic and cultural landscape, and comparing it to the former industrial framework in hopes to gain some perspective on how they fit into today’s world. By examining this subject I believe I can get a better perspective on how to keep young educated working adults in the Lansing area after they graduate from local universities.
